Summer Visitors

This has been a busy summer for us---we have had a lot of visitors come in from out of town.  First, my sister and her husband came in and we were able to visit our aunt in her new place of residence.

Then Rebecca and Roman came in for a visit----a visit to Mo. Botanical Garden with the Lego exhibit was a must.

Not all visitors stayed with us.  One of our college sorority sisters came to town so a group of us met for lunch.

Then, the Rachel's family came to town for a neighborhood wedding (Click here).  Our 4th was quiet, but we will soon be getting into the second wave of visits and visitors.  That's the nature of summer---people breaking out of hibernations, getting out while the getting is good.  We have been blessed with a cool summer this year which has certainly made these visits more enjoyable.

Between Two Worlds

Most of my life, I've considered it fortunate that I was just ahead of the Baby-boom. Generally, the Baby-boomers were born between 1946 and 1964 after the fathers returned from World War II. It was a huge population explosion that has reverberated through American society.

This blog will be part history, part memories, part reflections of a retired teacher, but active "Senior". I have always felt like I straddled two generations forming a bridge. Sometimes I think like a baby-boomer, but sometimes I'm locked into my parents' Depression era thinking. I'm a dichotomy of two eras. But, I'm always ready to try something new---so here I am dipping my toes in the water of Blogworld.
