Disney Fantasy "See Ya Later"

While Disney Fantasy still has the paper Navigators and the "wave phones", the new Disney Cruise App will soon make both obsolete. Everything in the Navigator (and a lot more) is on the App---you can even bookmark activities and will be alerted 10 minutes before the activity.  Our cruise also debuted the messaging between passengers (which had glitches so we didn't use it).  So, the "wave phone" technology may be on its way out.
Our last night (after Castaway Cay) was dinner in Animator's Palate which had an interesting "program".  Above were our dining partners who were finishing a year and a half living in Boston and would be returning to Korea before Christmas.  Below is Roman---we are all working on our cartoon people which would later be animated and featured in a show.

The screen above meant the show with our drawings would begin.  Although I took videos, they didn't turn out.  Below is Roman's with the orange face!  Then our names were listed at the end as the animators!

Delaney, Roman, Lee, Yoon, Jason, Rebecca, Jaclyn, Dave Minsir
There was also a cupcake activity for dessert---frosting and decorating them!

We had wonderful servers:  Guiseppe from Italy and Tino from the Philippines.  After dinner, Roman came to our room where we played Uno while his Mom and Dad packed.
We had a great trip, loved having special time with the Lewis Family on such an interesting ship.

Cast Away Cay Part 3

Although this was our first visit to Castaway Cay, it won't be our last, so I wanted to photograph a little of everything so we knew what to expect the next time we go.  The Lewis' family had many adventures in and out of the water, but so did Dave and I.  We rode the tram to several places to see it all.

In addition to the usual beach things, there was shopping, hiking, cycling, shopping, eating and getting married!

Castaway Cay Part II

Castway Cay is Disney's private island with many activities like swimming, water slides, snorkeling, jet skis, bicycling or just sunning on the beach.  There are restaurants, private cabanas and adult only areas (Serenity Bay).  A tram can take people from one area to another, mostly along an old run-way. For many on Disney cruises, this is their top destination in the Caribbean.

Between Two Worlds

Most of my life, I've considered it fortunate that I was just ahead of the Baby-boom. Generally, the Baby-boomers were born between 1946 and 1964 after the fathers returned from World War II. It was a huge population explosion that has reverberated through American society.

This blog will be part history, part memories, part reflections of a retired teacher, but active "Senior". I have always felt like I straddled two generations forming a bridge. Sometimes I think like a baby-boomer, but sometimes I'm locked into my parents' Depression era thinking. I'm a dichotomy of two eras. But, I'm always ready to try something new---so here I am dipping my toes in the water of Blogworld.
