Disney Wonder 2: Anna's Birthday

Saturday Dec. 8 was our first day at sea and Anna's 9th birthday.  Her mom and brother decorated our door for her!  We started off the day in Animator's Palate for the "Character Breakfast" with Vampira, Doc McStuffin and Mickey Mouse.

After breakfast, Anna went to the kids' club, but she didn't last long, so Grandma took her shopping: new t-shirt, a watch and a tin of mints.   After lunch, Mom and Grandma took her up to the Bippity Boppity Boutique for a "make-over":  make up, manicure, hair do and new outfit.

That was our first formal night, and we had a rare  window table at Triton's where we could watch the sunset.  After dinner, the staff came over to sing happy birthday to Anna and the kids celebrated with Mickey Bars.

Between Two Worlds

Most of my life, I've considered it fortunate that I was just ahead of the Baby-boom. Generally, the Baby-boomers were born between 1946 and 1964 after the fathers returned from World War II. It was a huge population explosion that has reverberated through American society.

This blog will be part history, part memories, part reflections of a retired teacher, but active "Senior". I have always felt like I straddled two generations forming a bridge. Sometimes I think like a baby-boomer, but sometimes I'm locked into my parents' Depression era thinking. I'm a dichotomy of two eras. But, I'm always ready to try something new---so here I am dipping my toes in the water of Blogworld.
