Character Breakfast

Our first day at sea was our "character breakfast".  Each of the three dining rotations has one while the ship was "at sea"---ours was first.  It was held in Parrot Cay, a Caribbean themed dining area.
So, while ordering, waiting for our order and eating breakfast, we had various Disney characters stop by the table to greet the guests, sign autographs, have photos made.  One woman I met said she works for Disney and this type of breakfast costs about $20 per person---it was included in the cost of the cruise.

I was a little sorry we had such a wonderful event so early in our cruise.  Little did I realize that more wonderful events were yet to come.  Eli liked the chipmunks---Anna liked Minnie Mouse.  We don't know where Donald and Daisy were.

Between Two Worlds

Most of my life, I've considered it fortunate that I was just ahead of the Baby-boom. Generally, the Baby-boomers were born between 1946 and 1964 after the fathers returned from World War II. It was a huge population explosion that has reverberated through American society.

This blog will be part history, part memories, part reflections of a retired teacher, but active "Senior". I have always felt like I straddled two generations forming a bridge. Sometimes I think like a baby-boomer, but sometimes I'm locked into my parents' Depression era thinking. I'm a dichotomy of two eras. But, I'm always ready to try something new---so here I am dipping my toes in the water of Blogworld.
