Disney Cruise Embarkation Nov. 10

Let's back it up to earlier in the day. . .

First, Leah presented us with our Disney T-shirts which included a onesie for the one "hitch-hiking", not due to arrive until May!  Yes, the Warrens are expecting #3.

Then, we took our suitcases out to the front of our hotel Inn at Waterpark in Galveston, where a shuttle was going to pick us up.  Eli played min-golf out in front while we waited for the shuttle.

While waiting until our 11:30 AM embarkation, we had many photo opportunities.
While our rooms were still getting ready, we went to the top deck, had lunch and explored (very healthy, delicious sandwiches at Goofy's Galley)

The band on Eli's wrist "Mickey Band" is like a locator for the child---required for "Oceaneers Club" or "Oceaneers Lab"(like a camp for kids).  The photo to the right is of Galveston Port.
Our rooms (for 5 people) were about 30% larger than most cruise ship rooms with two toilet facilities:  one with a sink and tub/shower and one with a sink and toilet.  There was plenty of storage.
The blue chest had shelves for clothes.  Note the curtain separating the sleeping areas,  The couch makes into a bed and two other bed are folded into the wall and ceiling. Note the ladder for Eli's bed.
On Disney, you rotate to three different restaurants.  Our first was Animator's Palate which is decorated in black and white.  As the evening progresses the walls and panels turn to color with brief scenes from animated films playing---yes, a little like Harry Potter's Hogwarts!

Although entertaining, one little Mouseketeer, just couldn't stay awake!

Between Two Worlds

Most of my life, I've considered it fortunate that I was just ahead of the Baby-boom. Generally, the Baby-boomers were born between 1946 and 1964 after the fathers returned from World War II. It was a huge population explosion that has reverberated through American society.

This blog will be part history, part memories, part reflections of a retired teacher, but active "Senior". I have always felt like I straddled two generations forming a bridge. Sometimes I think like a baby-boomer, but sometimes I'm locked into my parents' Depression era thinking. I'm a dichotomy of two eras. But, I'm always ready to try something new---so here I am dipping my toes in the water of Blogworld.
