Palm Sunday

I took Anna and Eli to St. Mark's Jerusalem Festival on Palm Sunday.  We got there early so the kids could pet the animals.
I'm not sure if there was a llama in Jerusalem, but there was at St. Mark.

 And, a camel, a donkey, a calf,
sheep and goats.  We are so fortunate to have this outdoor courtyard to keep the animals in.
But, when the goats started gnawing on Anna's fingers, we went inside to prepare for worship.

After the children left worship, they attended the Jerusalem Festival which included:
Crafts with my friend Carol,
A puppet show in Fellowship Hall,
Games like dreidel spinning

And more animals like a chicken, piglet and guinea pig at the bazaar.  Eli's group had money pouches and shopping bags for their purchases:  necklaces, bracelets, food.

For older children, there was also an archaeological dig and room where they learned about Jewish worship.

Between Two Worlds

Most of my life, I've considered it fortunate that I was just ahead of the Baby-boom. Generally, the Baby-boomers were born between 1946 and 1964 after the fathers returned from World War II. It was a huge population explosion that has reverberated through American society.

This blog will be part history, part memories, part reflections of a retired teacher, but active "Senior". I have always felt like I straddled two generations forming a bridge. Sometimes I think like a baby-boomer, but sometimes I'm locked into my parents' Depression era thinking. I'm a dichotomy of two eras. But, I'm always ready to try something new---so here I am dipping my toes in the water of Blogworld.
