And Kansas City, TWO

The next day we were able to see Davis's guitar recital which was at a beautiful old school in Kansas City.  First Davis played "All You Need is Love" in an ensemble.

Then, he played "Rockiny Myner", a blues number, which his teacher wrote.
With his uncle, aunt, cousin, 2 siblings, parents and 4 grandparents, he was cheered loudly.  We are so proud of his accomplishments even if his sister and cousin seemed to have other things on their mind. . . .

After the recital, we headed north to spend some quality time with Roman.  He even turned his dad's truck into his own "man cave".  The next day we all went out to breakfast to celebrate his birthday.

We had to leave a little early to try to beat a storm home, but had a great visit with all 7.5 of our grandchildren, all of our daughters and SIL's with bonus visits with Memaw and Pappy, a good friend from grade school, cousins, niece and her husband, sister and BIL.

:) i'd give you the youtube link to davis's "all you need is love" ensemble - but the videographer literally had no idea he was there. he was completely blocked by the girl in front - you can catch his green sleeve at one point. but it is obvious the videographer did NOT know davis was back there. [there are multiple close ups of everyone else] i thought it was funny - davis did NOT. :D thanks for coming!!! xo

Between Two Worlds

Most of my life, I've considered it fortunate that I was just ahead of the Baby-boom. Generally, the Baby-boomers were born between 1946 and 1964 after the fathers returned from World War II. It was a huge population explosion that has reverberated through American society.

This blog will be part history, part memories, part reflections of a retired teacher, but active "Senior". I have always felt like I straddled two generations forming a bridge. Sometimes I think like a baby-boomer, but sometimes I'm locked into my parents' Depression era thinking. I'm a dichotomy of two eras. But, I'm always ready to try something new---so here I am dipping my toes in the water of Blogworld.
