Texas Visit

 One of our first stops was the new McKinney Trader Joe's.  The mural in the back is the Arts Center (formerly county seat) where Anna takes dance lessons.  It was great seeing everyone and how the kids have grown up.  Sam is very curious (about Grandpa's walker) and beginning to talk.  Eli has lost so many teeth, I teased him Sam had more.

 Eli was eager to show me his Lego creations including a swim pool with water slide above.  We also played Scrabble with little help from Grandma.  Grand-daddy came over for dinner---the weather was beautiful so we ate outside a lot.

 The Warren School of Awesome had a substitute teacher this week (me) a few times.  The school is going great---the Dining Room never looked better.  I love the National Geographic map on the wall.

Kansas City Visit

 While on our way to Texas we made a quick (fewer than 24 hours) visit to KC to visit.  We saw Casey's film Rudderless and even got to freeze it to get a snap shot of Kyle, Rachel and each of the three kids who were extras.  It is a wonderful movie---funny, sad with an interesting music mix.

After the kids got home from school, Libby showed us all of her extra credit from a zoo trip, we celebrated Brett's birthday and got him all ready for a Scout camp out! Then, it was off to Texas to visit!

Back to the Future

 These photos were all taken of my husband in the 1940's.  Our grandson Sam looks so much like him at this age that I feel like I'm looking at my husband as a baby sometimes.  Then, I look at Dave and wonder if I'm seeing Sam in the future.  These photos were made when he was between 9 months to 17 months which is how old Sam is!

It's not just the face but this body that reminds me of Sam.

New Baby and Sam

 A few times a year, I try to make and send cards to our grandchildren who all live out of town. What I lack in creativity and craftmenship, I make up for with $$$.  For Fall, I sent out these cards---one for the baby who hasn't been born yet!  Sam's above reminds me of a T-shirt my husband once had:  Fall 2001.  While I'm sure Autumn is what was intended, it was also the year he fell. :-/

 Getting a little nostaligic on these two.  The four above are for Eli, Davis, Roman and Brett.

 And something for the girls---Libby and Anna!  Whew! That's a lot of mail.  So, why do I make cards if I'm not very good?  First, it is a gift of love (I clearly don't enjoy making them like friends of mine).  Second, I'm cheap (I have the craft supplies and store bought cards are around $4 each).  Third, I don't want to just stick $ in an envelope. Fourth, I want the kids to have random notes from Grandma to remind them how much I love them even if I don't see them very often.

Reunion 1964: KATY Trail

The 1964 Reunion had begun the night before with Cardinals baseball game (we won), early Friday morning was a golf match and late morning was walking along the KATY trail and lunch.  Although this was not my graduating class, I did have many friends in this class and loved catching up with them.

 After a photo on the parking lot, we walked along the KATY trail, had a few more photo opportunities before having lunch at the Old Mill Stream Inn in Old St. Charles where we ate outside.
