My sister (below) wanted to host a tea party for two of my high school friends and myself. She made at least 24 different kinds of sandwiches, sweets and savories.
The real surprise was when my niece Lynn arrived to help her mother and join us.
Margie and Kathy arrived and we got so busy catching up and eating all of the yummy dishes and teas, that I almost forgot to take photos.
Thanks goodness I remembered!
In addition to the usual scones, cucumber sandwiches, chicken and egg salads, Jane made delicious parfaits.
She claims they were also low in calories!
Kathy surprised us each with an antique tea cup. Jane immediately knew where to put hers.
In her glass top coffee table along with a few others she'd acquired over the years from her husband Richard.

Between Two Worlds
Most of my life, I've considered it fortunate that I was just ahead of the Baby-boom. Generally, the Baby-boomers were born between 1946 and 1964 after the fathers returned from World War II. It was a huge population explosion that has reverberated through American society.
This blog will be part history, part memories, part reflections of a retired teacher, but active "Senior". I have always felt like I straddled two generations forming a bridge. Sometimes I think like a baby-boomer, but sometimes I'm locked into my parents' Depression era thinking. I'm a dichotomy of two eras. But, I'm always ready to try something new---so here I am dipping my toes in the water of Blogworld.
