Worm Hunting

The kids got a little bored one morning, so to get them out of the house, we went on a worm hunt.
I started out with just Roman, but then Davis joined us.
We were "rescuing" worms from the pavement, before they got all dried out on the concrete walks and driveways.

I showed them how the worms made tracks in the mud. Before we knew it, I had a gaggle of grandkids.
The neighbors driving up the street all had to stop and ask. . .if we were on an Easter egg hunt. They were pretty surprised to hear that we were a "Worm Wescue".
We took them out to the garden where I assured the kids they (the worms) would be very happy!

They came by to visit them all weekend.
At one point, the boys would dig them up and hand them to Libby to "wormsit" on the ledge. We took pity on her and brought a saucer for her to put them in.

Between Two Worlds

Most of my life, I've considered it fortunate that I was just ahead of the Baby-boom. Generally, the Baby-boomers were born between 1946 and 1964 after the fathers returned from World War II. It was a huge population explosion that has reverberated through American society.

This blog will be part history, part memories, part reflections of a retired teacher, but active "Senior". I have always felt like I straddled two generations forming a bridge. Sometimes I think like a baby-boomer, but sometimes I'm locked into my parents' Depression era thinking. I'm a dichotomy of two eras. But, I'm always ready to try something new---so here I am dipping my toes in the water of Blogworld.
