About 30 women from our church went to Todd Hall in Columbia, IL for a 24 hour retreat.
We spent most of our time in Cramner Hall
But, had comfortable clean rooms to stay in at night.
We had several hours of socializing while women arrived. We had several who brought their knitting. But, most of us just brought our social skills.
We did have some devotionals and Bible study with Pastor Susan.
Our topic was "Our Daily Bread" and we were all asked to bring some bread with a story to share. Sally brought a can of biscuits which unexpectedly exploded with a biscuit hitting the ceiling. It certainly woke us all up!
After dinner, we roasted marshmellows and made S'mores.
Friends, Fun, Fellowship, Bible Study, Meditation, Enlightenment---that's what a women's retreat should be about.

Between Two Worlds
Most of my life, I've considered it fortunate that I was just ahead of the Baby-boom. Generally, the Baby-boomers were born between 1946 and 1964 after the fathers returned from World War II. It was a huge population explosion that has reverberated through American society.
This blog will be part history, part memories, part reflections of a retired teacher, but active "Senior". I have always felt like I straddled two generations forming a bridge. Sometimes I think like a baby-boomer, but sometimes I'm locked into my parents' Depression era thinking. I'm a dichotomy of two eras. But, I'm always ready to try something new---so here I am dipping my toes in the water of Blogworld.
