Visitors from Down Under

Long ago, a family moved across the street from us with 3 young children almost the same ages as our children.  We all became fast friends sharing many laughs and good times.  After a few years, they moved back to Australia, but every 5 or 6 years Helen and Ralph would come back to visit.  Their daughter Deb came with them on one trip, but this was the first time Robert had returned.  And he brought his wife and 2 beautiful daughters, Ocean and Summer.

After a "supper" of chili (white and red), sandwiches, veggies and fruit, we took the girls to Myseum where they worked off a bit of energy.  OK, Robert worked off some energy, too!

Afterwards, we had some photo opportunities, and while exploring our basement, Robert found an artifact from when they lived here.  We had a great visit---they promise to come back before another 30 years pass.

Between Two Worlds

Most of my life, I've considered it fortunate that I was just ahead of the Baby-boom. Generally, the Baby-boomers were born between 1946 and 1964 after the fathers returned from World War II. It was a huge population explosion that has reverberated through American society.

This blog will be part history, part memories, part reflections of a retired teacher, but active "Senior". I have always felt like I straddled two generations forming a bridge. Sometimes I think like a baby-boomer, but sometimes I'm locked into my parents' Depression era thinking. I'm a dichotomy of two eras. But, I'm always ready to try something new---so here I am dipping my toes in the water of Blogworld.
