Birthday Party on Arsenal

Mom, get Jane out of my birthday picture---she's not my friend---she's my little sister!
Don't take the photo she's still here!
That's more like it---me and my "gang". Happy Birthday to ME! (Oh, Jane, I'm sorry I made you cry. . .but you're JUST my little sister.)

Kneeling L-R: Donna Short (she had a sister Jane's age--Diane. We were the "Short and Long" pairs), Gay Reynolds (my BFF or until we were in college), ME, Mary Ernst (she lived down the street with 2 older brothers), Kathryn Ruppy (a school friend---didn't live in the "hood") and Wanda Bellm (she lived downstairs from us) Standing: Stephen Adams (my cousin), Robert Delaney (my cousin) and Wayne Bellm (Wanda's twin)

Between Two Worlds

Most of my life, I've considered it fortunate that I was just ahead of the Baby-boom. Generally, the Baby-boomers were born between 1946 and 1964 after the fathers returned from World War II. It was a huge population explosion that has reverberated through American society.

This blog will be part history, part memories, part reflections of a retired teacher, but active "Senior". I have always felt like I straddled two generations forming a bridge. Sometimes I think like a baby-boomer, but sometimes I'm locked into my parents' Depression era thinking. I'm a dichotomy of two eras. But, I'm always ready to try something new---so here I am dipping my toes in the water of Blogworld.
