Arriving in Stockholm July 7

We had been told to get up early to view the voyage into Stockholm through the archipelagos---it was well-worth it.

It was really a beautiful cruise---worth getting up at 6:00 AM to see.
Some islands were inhabited with people. . .
But some were inhabited with cormorants. I'm not sure if they liked islands with dead vegetation of if their roosting killed the vegetation.

If you listen carefully, you can hear the birds.
Wending our way through the islands was not an easy task and yet we were following several other ships---probably ferry boats.
This was a little like cruising through Alaska and a little like the Panama Canal---all three are well worth the extra price of a balcony.
After at least three hours, we were in Stockholm.

Between Two Worlds

Most of my life, I've considered it fortunate that I was just ahead of the Baby-boom. Generally, the Baby-boomers were born between 1946 and 1964 after the fathers returned from World War II. It was a huge population explosion that has reverberated through American society.

This blog will be part history, part memories, part reflections of a retired teacher, but active "Senior". I have always felt like I straddled two generations forming a bridge. Sometimes I think like a baby-boomer, but sometimes I'm locked into my parents' Depression era thinking. I'm a dichotomy of two eras. But, I'm always ready to try something new---so here I am dipping my toes in the water of Blogworld.
