New Driveway

After 30 years, we decided to replace our driveway---it had buckled in several places making walking and snow removal difficult at times.
Bob of Infinite Concrete Solution came out and started breaking up our driveway.
The slabs were peeled up showing it was just laid down on soil with no reinforcement.
Bob claimed he'd never run into so many roots before.
As promised, Bob laid down a mesh and iron rods. And, then it rained or threatened to rain for several days. But, finally we had the pour on Friday! We'll be able to drive on it in a few days.

"Infinite" concrete solutions. So, I guess he can solve absolutely anything with concrete. That's good to know. Can he come to NJ?

Looks great. Such a pleasure when something is done the correct way!

Between Two Worlds

Most of my life, I've considered it fortunate that I was just ahead of the Baby-boom. Generally, the Baby-boomers were born between 1946 and 1964 after the fathers returned from World War II. It was a huge population explosion that has reverberated through American society.

This blog will be part history, part memories, part reflections of a retired teacher, but active "Senior". I have always felt like I straddled two generations forming a bridge. Sometimes I think like a baby-boomer, but sometimes I'm locked into my parents' Depression era thinking. I'm a dichotomy of two eras. But, I'm always ready to try something new---so here I am dipping my toes in the water of Blogworld.
